The Awwal Ladipo Foundation came into existence after our dear beloved, Awwal Ladipo, was brutally and senselessly murdered on July 26, 2021, and since then we have made it our mission to empower youths and create a violence free environment in our communities.

 

We are a Christian nonprofit organization committed to prevent and create awareness of youth violence in our communities through:

  • Build: Building a generation of youth on Christ principles through awareness.

  • Save: Saving youth from violence by investing in their education 

  • Give: Giving back to our communities through scholarship grants, charitable giveaways, recreational activities, and educational seminars.

 

Eligibility Criteria 

  • Resident of Minnesota 

  • Minimum 2.5 GPA

  • Ability to volunteer at least 8 hours with ALF

  • Demonstrated Financial need 

  • Enrollment in or acceptance to an accredited academic institution

 

Scholarship Requirements: 

  • 500–1000-word essay on youth violence in communities of color and how you plan to use your degree to help better our communities

  • A separate document including information that shows financial need and school costs 

  • Letter of acceptance or proof of enrollment in undergraduate/graduate institution

  • Most recent unofficial transcript of grades

  • For college/university and graduate students, please attach your resume
